A precarious but memorable shoot with this beautiful family! The Ventura Pier was recently damaged because of heavy rainfall and pounding waves, and rocks were added to minimize a repeat event. So, while it's not the most iconic, sandy "beach" session, each of these kids and mom were absolute troopers. I literally couldn't stop photographing them, they were great. The colors they wore were tasteful and the pops of coral were well planned. I'm glad I got to capture their Farewell California family photo (dad was already in their new home) before they headed north!

This family got up very early for a sunrise session, and I'm not sure if they agree, but it was worth it! The sunrise was beautiful, casting this warm, glowing light on the mostly deserted beach in Ventura. They may have gotten more wet than they would have liked, but props to them for being willing to put their feet into the water. They are an exemplary family and I'm grateful to know them! These are the moments that matter, and I'm honored to have been able to capture a few.

This is my cousin Kevin's family from Arizona. After Christmas last year we all went to Utah to attend my cousin's wedding, Kevin's sister. While in Utah, they asked me to take their family pictures and I said of course! The only problem, it was 20 degrees outside! Brrr. Thankfully, Emily, my cousin (in law), searched around and found the Provo City Library! It has these beautiful tall windows that let in beautiful light, so we chased the light and produced these pictures!
There are basically two areas in the library, part of the older library with more traditional and antique wood, and the newer part, with more modern, streamlined construction and lines. It was a challenge because there were at least three other families getting their photos done at that time, ha, so we were constantly moving around each other, but it all worked out. Julia, their little girl, is absolutely darling. Can you get enough of her eyes? They were just begging me to take a closeup of them, so amazing.
